Show Review
September 7, 2012 – Prisca’s House
I was gratefully invited to a special show at one of Atlanta’s greatest talent’s house this past Friday. No one in attendance expected it to be as incredible as it was but it turned out to be one night we will never forget. Prisca opened up her home which was warm and inviting to about 30 guests that all enjoyed conversation with new and old friends and a night filled with music played by great musicians.

Besides Daniel kicked off the night with just him, his guitar, and songs about growing old and love gone wrong only to discover new love. Danny was joined by Prisca on piano for a couple of songs and the harmonies were perfect. The Zou, an indie rock band from Ohio, was visiting the south to play some local venues and they were thankful to play such an intimate show. The Zou is one band that I wish were local, because I would be at all of their shows. To end a perfect night, Prisca serenaded us as she played her beautiful upright piano. She started her set off with a cover of Prince’s, “Little Red Corvette” but the real beauty is in her original material. She plays with such passion and heart and her songwriting is very relatable, it was hard for me not to tear up. Prisca encouraged us to sing along which made us feel comfortable and like we were right at home.

This house show fueled my love for Atlanta and music. I hope to see more intimate shows like this, it really is a different experience than the normal bar shows.
