One for You, and One for Me – Bright Eyes

Conor Oberst – Bright Eyes

Show Review- Bright Eyes

I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to see Bright Eyes perform live.  On March 4th at The Tabernacle I experienced the best show of 2011.  I know it’s still very early in the year but it was nothing short of a perfect live show.  The lights and pixel-esque back drop was just an added touch.  The most important aspect of the show was the music.  Let me start off by stating that there were in fact two drummers on stage which is something I have never seen before.  However as soon as the opening commentary (which is the same dialogue on their newest album “The Peoples Key”) was ending and Conor Oberst entered on the stage, the whole sold out building shouted and I knew it was going to be a good night.  The set list was also very diverse including a song from a 2000 Bright Eyes release “Fever and Mirrors.” (Set List) Conor Oberst was a true performer that night.  He was completely immersed in the songs he was playing and as the night went on he let loose and told a few drunken stories to his fans.  Absolutely perfect night and it was one that lingered in my mind many days after.  I hope I get the chance to see Bright Eyes again.
