Show Review- The lineup: Justin Jones, Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals
Two nights of pure American Rock & Roll that’s what was in store for anyone who managed to get tickets to this two night run at the Variety Playhouse.
I was present for the Saturday night show and I wish I would have been there Friday night also! Justin Jones started off the night; just him and his guitar. He had great vocals and lyrics that completely captured the early crowd. There is not much to say about Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights other than I felt like I was back in the 70’s listening to a bad ass rock and roll band. They were amazing and I knew the night was going to be great after they graced the stage. Last but not least Grace Potter & The Nocturnals. Wow, Grace Potter sure can belt out a tune. The set was so rounded from rock and soulful tunes including their hit “Paris (Ooh La La)” to stripped down acoustic tunes and Grace singing a cappella. Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers made an appearance on stage to play guitar and sing “Grandma’s Hands” with the band. It was a perfect night to listen to great music and be entertained by such talented musicians who brought nothing short of a party. Anyone who can rock out on stage for two hours in high heels like Grace Potter is a rock goddess in my book!!
