Hello Ocho
My thoughts on a local favorite.
The first time I saw Hello Ocho, I didn’t really know anything about them and was honestly there to see the opening band but by the end of the night I left a fan. They don’t play that often, which they use to their advantage and really brought a tentative crowd that danced along and added to the fun atmosphere the band created. I also must admit when I see a band for the first time I might stand still but that’s because I am paying attention. I want to know everything about the band, the instruments they play, the sights, the sounds, the music they are creating, and the crowds reaction to the music. Everything. I ventured out recently to the Earl to see Hello Ocho again and this time they were the opening band. I didn’t stand still this time and I was all smiles. Hello Ocho’s music is full of fun energy and each member is super talented. They use backing tracks which only adds to the musicians wonderful creations on stage. The vocals are forceful but full of emotion with every well written verse and explosive chorus and one of their keyboardist uses all kinds of percussion that adds a cool tribal element to their music. One of the songs they performed “Sticking to the Sheets” is one of my favorite new releases and was also a crowd favorite. Take a listen and don’t miss the chance to see this great band live!
