NovaKord – Out There – Album Review

NovaKord – Out There
Released: April 7, 2011

NovaKord is Wes Daniel (vocals/guitars/keyboards), Billy Snyder (Bass/keyboards/vocals), and Johnny Cunningham (drums/percussion/vocals) from Atlanta, GA.  With only one song previously released they left an impression on me after seeing them rock stages around Atlanta.  I am thrilled to finally be able to enjoy their self-released debut full-length Out There.  The album has some powerful rock anthems such as “Walk Fast” and a sense of positive energy throughout especially on my favorite song, “Out There”.  Who am I kidding, I can’t pick one favorite because each song stands out.  Daniel’s vocals seem to soar and is complimented by the intricate percussion in “Kaleyedoscope”.  This song literally takes my breath away.  I can’t express how incredible it is; you will just have to hear it for yourself.  Out There feels familiar and comforting like a favorite album I would have listened to over and over again in high school.  For a self released album it goes to show you don’t need a record label to create something outstanding.  I’m so excited for NovaKord and I can’t wait to see what their future holds.

Join NovaKord this Saturday night at the Basement for their CD Release show. The other talented acts on the bill include – Wowser BowserWe Roll Like Madmen, and Dark Room. More info HERE.
