Sleepy Genes – “Passion People” – Song Review

Sleepy Genes have released their first single entitled “Passion People,” which is one of four songs recorded at White Noise Recording Studio.  Hearing this song live multiple times has made the anticipation high and it is even greater than I expected. Clocking at almost 6 minutes, “Passion People” ranges in tempo from abrupt and crashing drums with crushing guitars, and then calmer with light vocal harmonies and intricate keys but doesn’t stop there returning right back to it’s original medley of sound. This is what I’m talking about when I say Sleepy Genes’ music is a rush.  Listen to it and then listen to it again. See them live at one or all of the following shows.
February 11th – Star Bar w/ Street Violence
February 25th – The Basement w/ Damon Moon and The Whispering Drifters
March 8th – Five Spot w/ Mr. Gnome
March 20th – Drunken Unicorn w/ Polica
April 2nd – 529
