Calibro 35
Any Resemblance to Real Persons or Actual Facts Is Purely Coincidental
Released: July 10, 2012

One of the many ways I discover new music is New Release Tuesdays.  I try my best to check out new releases each Tuesday and I came across a band called Calibro 35.  Calibro 35 is a funky instrumental band from Milan, Italy and they released their newest album about a month ago.  I was instantly hooked after listening to the opening and title track “Any Resemblance to Real Persons or Actual Facts Is Purely Coincidental”.  It is apparent in their music that they take inspiration from film, Italian crime films from the 70’s in particular. Calibro 35’s adventurous third album was recorded in Brooklyn, New York during a 5 day period, and they used a lot of improvisation and inspiration from film soundtracks.  It is a fun and engaging album to listen to and will take you on an epic adventure through sound.  Take a listen to the whole album below and also checkout the impressively animated video for “Italian Band from BBQ”, one of my favorite songs off the album!
