Featured Shows – July 10-14, 2012

This week I’m doing things a little different.  It’s all about Atlanta bands and I have only selected a few shows. Dig it? Then let’s go to a show and support local music!

July 10, 2012 – Prisca at the Masquerade
Prisca is an incredibly talented vocalist/musician/song-writer from Atlanta and she is gracing the Purgatory stage equipped with her piano and catchy tunes.  Her music is positively moving and she sings with such great passion and heart.  Expect to see the Jason Monseur behind a kit adding percussion to the mix.  It’s going to be great.  Don’t miss it.  More info HERE.

July 13, 2012 – Jungol, Sleepy Genes, Isness at the Earl
If I could have created a perfect lineup it would have been this one.  Seriously, look no further for Friday night plans because everyone and their mother will be at the Earl.  Jungol is bringing brand spankin-new tunes and a bad ass drummer too.  The anticipation is killing me to hear what their new music sounds like live.  Jungol is a band that takes pride in their live performances and it keeps their loyal fans coming back for more. Isness is a really innovative band in Atlanta’s music scene and they mix electronic sounds with bass and percussion in their live sets. So good, I don’t know what else to say.  Sleepy Genes could play shows every week and I would be one happy person.  They rock live and they have a damn good time doing it. Don’t miss it. Ok?  More info HERE.

July 14, 2012 – Gun Party, Places, Mice in Cars at the Earl
I feel like I’m in East Atlanta Village at least once a week and now I get to be there two days in a row at the Earl this weekend.  Atlanta Music Roundtable in conjunction with The Great Big, an awesome Atlanta record label, are presenting a diverse lineup that is sure to please.   Gun Party always provides a good dance-able time. More info HERE.
